project summary The Upalco Unit Replacement Project would develop flows of the Lake Fork and Yellowstone Rivers for supplemental irrigation of Indian and Secondary lands. The project would also develop a municipal and industrial water supply for the City of Roosevelt and provide instream flow for recreation, fish, and wildife purposes. It replaces the original Upalco Unit Project with less costly and less environmentally damaging features than were envisioned in the original project. Included in the reformulated project are the acquisition and improvement of big game habitat and wetlands.
